  • The office of Rachel Egan is situated on the traditional land of the Anishnawbe people, where they and many other peoples have gathered for time immemorial. This sacred place, originally known as Anemki Wequedong, is now also the Treaty Territory of the Fort William First Nation, signatories to the Robinson-Superior Treaty in 1850. This place is where, with the contribution of the Métis people in this area, a small thriving community formed into what has now become Thunder Bay.

It is with gratitude that we honour the enduring presence, contributions, and wisdom of Indigenous peoples, who have cared for this land and its communities for thousands of years.

We also acknowledge that the legacy of colonization is ongoing, with continued impacts on Indigenous communities. As a mental health care provider in particular, the need to listen, learn, and actively engage in the process of reconciliation is acknowledged and prioritized. It is rooted in values and mission of this practice to stand in solidarity with Indigenous peoples in their pursuit of healing, justice, and self-determination.

With deep respect, thanks is given for the opportunity to live and work on this land. This practice is committed to fostering a future that is grounded in respect, equity, and healing for all, while recognizing and addressing the enduring and ongoing effects of colonization.
